The opening of two new sites and success in a range of awards ceremonies has topped a successful year for the Seafood Pub Company.

The Derby Arms in Thornley, Longridge and The Barley Mow in Barley, Pendle became the fifth and sixth pubs to join the Seafood Pub Company in 2014 whilst The Fenwick in Claughton, Lancaster and The Farmers Arms in Great Eccleston celebrated their first anniversaries as part of our family. The Assheton Arms in Downham, Clitheroe and the Oyster & Otter in Feniscowles, Blackburn continue to go from strength to strength.

In addition to adding new venues to the Seafood Pub Company portfolio, 2014 has also seen Joycelyn and her team add a new service to the company’s offering: accommodation at the Derby Arms and Barley Mow, with rooms opening at the Assheton Arms in 2015.

The aim of the new accommodation is to ensure our venues become true Lancashire tourist destinations so that guests can combine enjoying our creative menus and the relaxed atmosphere in our pubs with exploring the beautiful Lancashire countryside, whether it is for a special occasion or a midweek treat.

As the Seafood Pub Company’s venues prepare for the festive period and plan for 2015, Joycelyn and her team have been reflecting on a successful 2014.

Seafood Pub Company sites and staff have been presented with awards including The Good Pub Guide’s County Dining Pub of the Year, Lancashire Life Food Hero of the Year and Restaurant of the Year, R200 Pub Company of the Year, The Food Awards England and Wales Gastro Pub of the Year North, Ribble Valley Stars in Tourism Team of the Year, Ribble Valley Business Awards Food Business of the Year, Development Chef Awards Best Pub Group Menu, Northern Restaurant and Bar 50 Most Influential People in Hospitality. The Assheton Arms was also included in the 2015 Good Food Guide and the Seafood Pub Company has just been shortlisted in the Publican Awards.

Joycelyn added “Our pubs and staff have been recognised with a number of accolades and this is something we are really proud of. We are constantly striving to offer our customers something special and out of the ordinary, so to be recognised for our efforts in a range of regional and national awards, against some very high profile peers is excellent news for us.

“We would like to thank all of our customers for their support in 2014 and look forward to welcoming you to one of our award-winning venues in 2015 with your family and friends.”
