The Oyster & Otter is celebrating its fifth birthday, and 55,000 portions of fish and chips since opening!

Matt Ward, general manager at the pub said: “Fish and chips has been a favourite dinner choice right from the outset; so much so, we regularly serve over 200 portions a week, and that number is increasing!”

“200 portions a week over five years works out at 55,000 fish and chips meals; a figure which we’re extremely proud of, and one which is testament to our fantastic offering.”

The Oyster & Otter is committed to providing its customers with the very best produce, all sourced locally in and around Lancashire. The fish produce is caught by managing director Joycelyn Neve’s father Chris Neve, who brings the daily fresh catches to the Oyster & Otter’s pub door direct from the Fleetwood coast.

The venue has enjoyed a number of prestigious awards in its five years, including being named as the Lancashire Life Food and Drink Awards Restaurant of the Year in 2014, and The Food Awards England and Wales Gastro Pub of the Year North in 2014. The Seafood Pub Company also recently won Best Food Offer at the recognised Publican Awards 2016 for the second year running.

Matt added, “I’m really proud of the Oyster & Otter; the team here are committed to providing an excellent food and drink service for our customers, and the five-year mark shows how far we’ve come since opening.

“We have lots of plans in place for the future, and are looking forward to the next five years and a lot more fish and chip lunches and suppers!”
