Derby Arms named Lancashire’s best pub
The Derby Arms in Longridge is celebrating being named the county’s best pub in the National Pub & Bar Awards, hosted by Pub & Bar magazine.
Part of the award-winning Seafood Pub Company, the Derby Arms will now compete against the winning pubs from Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester and Merseyside to be named the regional winner. If it takes this title, it will then be one of 12 national venues in the running for the Best Pub in the United Kingdom award.
The 2017 county winners were assessed against multiple marks of quality, looking at every element that goes into making a hospitality experience truly excellent.
“We’re delighted to have beaten off some tough competition from across Lancashire to receive this honour,” said Matt Ward, general manager of the Derby Arms. “We have a fantastic team here at the Derby who work really hard to ensure our customers have a fantastic experience every time they visit; they have earned this award for their passion and enthusiasm.”
A team from the Derby Arms will be presented with their award at the National Pub & Bar Awards grand final on May 23rd at London’s iconic BAFTA theatre.
“This is an industry that never stands still – the operators of the best pubs know that they have to be at the top of their game 100% of the time,” added Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar magazine. “Our 94 county winners are shining examples of that energy and creativity. They are what makes the pubs and bars of the UK so renowned. Congratulations to all of the finalists.”
