A mum in a million was given a Mother’s Day to remember this year when she was presented with a very special prize at the Forest in Fence.

We appealed for diners at all of our sites to tell us why their mum is one in a million. We then planned to surprise a mum dining at one of our sites on Mother’s Day with a two-night dinner, bed and breakfast stay at any of our venues with accommodation.

Michele Harrison was nominated by daughter Alice Henry because she sees her as a superwoman who has singlehandedly raised four strong, independent women whilst holding down more than one job and completing her nurse training. She was also a big support to Alice when she was treated for rheumatoid arthritis as a youngster. Despite her own recent health problems, Michele always goes out of her way to be there for her family and friends.

“Michele was a really deserving winner of our Mother’s Day competition,” said Ryan Taylor, general manager at the Forest. “We had some heart-warming entries into the competition but Alice’s story about her mum stood out against all the others and we were delighted to be able to surprise her and her family with an extra gift on Mother’s Day. We look forward to welcoming Michele and a guest back to enjoy her prize soon.”

Michele was dining at the Forest with Alice, Alice’s boyfriend Matt and his mum Dawn. She said: “I was shocked when the manager came to the table to say I’d won, I had no idea Alice had entered me. I would like to thank the Seafood Pub Company for this fantastic prize and I am really looking forward to choosing which venue to visit for my two night stay.”
